THE WESLEY DIET

The Wesley diet is an alkaline plant based diet. Studies have shown that by replacing acidic foods with alkaline foods it can reduce the amount of acid in your body and raise the oxygen levels in your blood. Because people with Sickle Cell already suffer from low oxygen levels in the blood, it’s best to eat an alkaline diet to help combat that. Acidic foods also cause inflammation throughout the body and mucus in the gut. Inflammation in the body can narrow the blood vessels, making it more difficult for the blood to flow freely throughout the body. Mucus in the gut is a problem because it can keep your body from absorbing essential vitamins and minerals. Below you can find a list of alkaline foods and a list of acidic foods.
